Five OU Roses to Attend LAU Tournament as Collegiate All-Stars

This weekend, May 5th and 6th, five University of Oklahoma Women’s Rugby Team members will be traveling to Colorado Springs, Colorado to play with the Heart of America Collegiate All-Star Team. The HOA team is comprised of 25 female collegiate rugby players from the states of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. There is an annual tournament in which teams from their appropriate regions play one another. The teams that will be present at the LAU tournament are, Texas Rugby Union, Heart of America Rugby Football Union, Eastern Rockies Rugby Football Union, and the Pacific Mountains West Rugby Football Union. It is such an honor to have so many Roses appear on the All-Star team this year. Those attending are listed below (as ordered from left to right in the photo above). Congratulations, ladies!

Daryl Hatch:     

Sophomore- Multidisciplinary Studies with a focus on Multi-Cultural Languages and Pre-Med

Hometown: Sapulpa, Oklahoma

Experience: One Year

Kalynn Meese:

Sophomore- Health and Exercise Science

Hometown: The Woodlands, Texas

Experience: One Year

Favorite Position to Play: Anywhere in the Backline

 

Laura Ponshock:

Junior- Health and Exercise Science

Hometown: Houston, Texas

Experience: Two Years

Favorite Position to Play: Flanker

 

Kelsey Schaefer:

Senior- Chemical Engineering

Hometown: Houston, Texas

Experience: Three Years

Favorite Position to Play: Flanker

 

Jinnie Pratt:
Sophomore- Advertising and Public Relations

Hometown: Madisonville, Texas

Experience: Two Years

Favorite Position to Play: Fullback or Flanker
